This role is ideally suited for an outstanding and committed teacher who has the ability to lead and inspire teachers and adhering to the same high standards and is ready for a wider leadership opportunity.
The Lead Teacher involves working with Senior Leadership: whole school development, specific whole school T&L projects, leading the development of T&L and utilising research to develop yourself as an outstanding teacher and learner.
The post and role will reflect the school priorities at the time. These will be negotiated with the Senior Leadership Team.
As a Lead Teacher at The Beeches Independent School, you will:
Be a model of excellent practice; maintaining a clear focus on outstanding delivery to learners and ensuring best practice.
To plan, implement, deliver, and review high-quality lessons that meet the needs of the pupils and are in line with the curriculum and schemes of work.
To develop a classroom environment that allows all students to succeed.
To mark pupils' work on a regular basis and record this in a mark book to show the pupils' progress throughout the year in line with the school policy.
Leadership Responsibilities
Work with senior leadership to share recognised best practice in teaching and learning through research and investigation, partnership teaching, mentoring and coaching, and CPD sessions.
Leading on new developments in schemes of learning, resources, teaching and learning strategies.
Lead on qualifications, such as functional skills English and Math.
To work with and mentor the teaching team on the self-evaluation of teaching and learning, developing high-quality pedagogy within the school.
To work collaboratively with the wider team to develop teaching and learning approaches.
Providing regular feedback and updates to the senior leadership team.

To liaise with other school staff, parents and agencies to meet the individual needs of students.
To attend meetings as required.
To make a positive contribution to the wider aspects of the school.

Other Duties
To undertake any other duties appropriate with the level of responsibility, as required.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent relevant qualification in education, social work, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience teaching preferably in SEN education or with vulnerable children
- Experience working with children with complex needs including autism, learning disabilities, and SEMH needs
- Recent and relevant involvement in professional development, including analysing curriculum data.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
· Competence in the use of IT relevant to the post.
· Able to analyse and evaluate curriculum data.
· Knowledge of national education policies.
· Understanding of safeguarding.
· Able to set clear targets, track progress and adopt strategies to achieve them.
· Track and understand pupil progress.
· Demonstrate a clear understanding of the SEND code of practice and Education Health Care Plans.
