We provide:

·        An all-through 3 - 18 school experience.

·        A learning environment based on very high academic standards.

·        A school where all pupils are encouraged to reach their true potential and parents are welcome.

·        The best of the independent school tradition such as the House system and a tremendous range of extra-curricular activities.

·        An exciting place to learn with excellent facilities, new technology and a wide range of teaching and learning experiences.

·        A vibrant and tolerant multi-cultural community.

·        A deeper learning of the wider world through our enterprise activities.

·        Outstanding careers advice and an opportunity to meet former students who have gone on to be successful in a variety of occupations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an outstanding and inspirational teacher and manager to our Resourced Provision (RP) for pupils with ASD.  The provision currently meets the needs of 12 pupils with a diagnosis of ASD and an EHCP, in KS3 and 4, but will expand in September 2024 to have capacity for 25 pupils including pupils in KS1 and 2 in a purpose-built, state of the art facility.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in the development, planning and implementation of the new build, recruiting new staff and welcoming our new cohort of students to the Resourced Provision.  Working closely with the Director of SEND, the Resourced Provision Manager will oversee the day-to-day provision for pupils with autism as well as playing a key role in the development of the curriculum offer and interventions delivered in the base. The Resourced Provision Manager will also contributing to whole school CPD on autism and Social Communication Difficulties and will hold a Safeguarding responsibility for students on the SEND register.

A successful track record of working with pupils with complex additional needs is required along with huge aspiration for these pupils and an ambition for them to become part of the life of our school and flourish here at WHGS.

William Hulme's Grammar School is one of the most over-subscribed schools in Greater Manchester’s amongst the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. It is an all-through (3-18) Academy of nearly 1600 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds and is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England..

United Learning schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resources, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
