Job overview

We are a very successful and welcoming multi-cultural school set in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea near the Kings Road serving a diverse community. We are looking forward to moving into our brand new school in September 2017 and are seeking to appoint a talented and suitably experienced practitioner to our staff team who can lead our specialist 16 place provision for primary aged children with autism. The provision will open in September 2017 in a dedicated base within the new school. Ideally we wish to appoint a lead teacher to take up post before September 2017.

You will:

  • have a clear understanding of effective teaching and how to raise and sustain achievement in ASD provision
  • be an excellent communicator who is able to engage effectively with the children, parents/carers and staff on a daily basis
  • be committed to inclusion and building close working relationships with the mainstream school
  • have a proven track record of exemplary practice across the primary age range especially with ASD children
  • be able to ensure high quality provision for children
  • have the skills to develop a highly successful and motivated team and liaise with a wide range of outside agencies
  • be committed to making a difference in an highly inclusive school where morale is high and staff have high expectations of themselves and the pupils

Marlborough Primary School is  an inclusive, well established and welcoming two form entry primary school serving a diverse local population in the heart of Chelsea. The school has been in existence since 1878 and we are proud of its place within the community. 

In September 2017 we moved into a brand new state of the art building which offers spaces for creativity and recreation. The school has access to a dance studio, a creative media suite, an art and design studio, large hall spaces, terraced outdoor play spaces. a MUGA and specialist provision for autism.
