Lead Teacher for Learning Technologies (TLR3)

The Lead Teacher for Learning Technologies will be an innovative, enthusiastic and exemplary classroom practitioner. The position is non-class based and a member of the school’s Extended Leadership and Management Team (ELMT). The Lead Teacher for Learning Technologies will build upon the high profile and quality of information technologies at QBS and its application both within the classrooms and across the school as identified in the Quarry Bay School’s Annual Development Plan. The Lead Teacher for Learning Technologies will ensure a progressive, dynamic, consistent and school wide approach to the position. They will be innovative, futures thinking, highly collaborative, creative and flexible and required to work closely alongside the Curriculum Coordinator (PYP), Lead Teachers for Year Levels, classroom teachers and the wider specialist teaching team.
Key Responsibilities:
Take sole responsibility for the learning outcomes in learning technologies to ensure development, innovation, sustainable practice, continuity and progression across the school.
Continue to integrate existing contemporary technologies into teaching such as colour keying, augmented reality creation, virtual reality creation and coding.
Take a lead role in the further development of the school’s digital citizenship programme
Identify and develop opportunities for STEM and STEAM learning within units
Line manage the technical support team consisting of 2 technicians
Plan, manage and budget for new equipment and resources
Manage and support the schools Virtual Learning Environment (Qoodle)
Provide additional support for the schools administrative and communications systems and channels when needed
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
• Qualified teacher status
• Exemplary classroom practitioner
• Evidence of leadership and experience of building successful teams
• Exemplary knowledge of effective assessment practices
• Ability to mentor/ coach staff
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience
• Evidence of on-going professional development and professional/personal reflection
• Committed to supporting children’s individual needs and a belief in inclusive practices
Desirable Criteria:
• PYP curriculum experience
• Experience in similar role
• Experience of more than one curriculum model
• International and home teaching experience
