Lead Teacher for Music and Performing Arts

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an outstanding, creative music teacher to continue to embed music at the heart of Springwell Learning Community, Barnsley.  Music is an essential aspect of the success of the outstanding special academy.  Pupils flourish at all key stages and find their passion in this subject.  Music as an intervention helps pupils to settle to learn, develop confidence and music lessons are enjoyed by all, leading to outstanding progression and outcomes at key stage 4 where pupils demonstrate a high level of musicality.  Termly concerts are well attended by supportive parents who are positive about the contribution music has made to the happiness of their children. 

The successful applicant would be required to:

• Teach music across key stages 1 to 4, including accredited music courses (e.g. BTEC or Rock School) at key stage 4.

• Lead choir weekly 

• Stage termly concerts  

• Continue to embed the high profile of music across the organisation
