Thank you for taking the time to find out more about King Solomon Academy and the possibility of joining us. Included in this information pack is information about the academy and the role of Lead Teacher of Business Studies.
King Solomon Academy is achieving remarkable things. In our first four years of GCSE results we have regularly achieved nationally ground-breaking outcomes, including being the top 1% for pupil progress every year, and in three of the last four years we have been in the top 10 schools in the country.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our outstanding all-through school, which seeks to redefine what is possible for a school serving an innercity community.
We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and talented teacher and leader of Business Studies to join our passionate team. At King Solomon Academy, Business Studies is a rapidly growing subject. Led by the Head of Business and Enterprise, in Sept 2015 KSA introduced business studies into our curriculum with the launch of the BTEC level 3 business in sixth form. The success of the business BTEC has allowed us to introduce business at GCSE from September 2016 and we know have cohorts of pupils learning Business Studies in Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13. We are keen to ensure that an entrepreneurial culture is spread more widely across the academy and for the business team organise a range of enterprise events. We run Young Enterprise successfully at sixth form and similar initiatives throughout the school, including STRIDE in Year 6.
The academy’s first cohort of business studies students progressed to university in September this year and we are incredibly proud of their achievements. The Lead Teacher of Business Studies will lead the shaping of the curriculum from Years 10 to 13, teaching cohorts in both key stages and leading our fastest growing subject area.
