Job overview
· Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
To inspire and motivate students to have a love of learning of Drama by:
· Setting high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students
· To contribute to raising standards of student attainment and achievement
· Promoting good progress and outcomes by students
· Demonstrating good subject and curriculum knowledge
· Planning and teaching well-structured lessons, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students
· Making accurate and productive use of assessment
· Managing behaviour effectively to ensure a productive and safe learning environment
· To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for the personal and academic development of children and young people.
· To liaise with SENCO to differentiate work to match the needs of individual students
· To take part in marketing and liaison events such as Open Evening, Parents Evening and other events
· Responsible for co-ordinating a variety of performances throughout the academic year
· Overseeing the Acting Academy which includes an annual performance in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
· Work closely with the Music and Dance Department to produce whole academy productions and events
