We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Lead Teacher of English for our highly successful and well-resourced English department. We are looking for a candidate who is ambitious, creative, and an effective classroom practitioner who aspires to develop their leadership skills further within a supportive, forward thinking department. The successful candidate will lead pedagogical developments in English, as well as working within the Teacher Development team to promote excellence in teaching and learning across the school. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a track record of high quality classroom practice, a strong team ethic, and a commitment to their own continuous professional development and knowledge of the curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.
English is one of the school’s strongest departments, who in 2017 achieved outcomes in the top 3% nationally with a Progress 8 score of +0.81. The department is at the forefront of developing Learning & Teaching within the school and across our local network of schools. The successful candidate will be expected to promote and shape the team’s drive, ambition and reflective practice.
