Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London)

Due to increasing Sixth Form numbers, the Science Department at LPGS is increasing its leadership capacity. This role will work with the Head of Faculty and Heads of Physics and Biology to ensure that Key Stage 3 is the platform from which successful science careers at Key Stages 4 and 5 are built.  Science results at LPGS are already outstanding and we continue to strive to continue to secure the best possible outcomes whilst ensuring memorable and joyful learning experiences.

We require a dynamic and ambitious Lead Teacher of Key Stage 3 Science. The ability to teach chemistry at Key stage 5 would be an advantage.  LPGS is a thriving and academically successful school.  2020 results were the best ever at both GCSE and A-Level.  The Science Department not only produces excellent results but is innovative in its curriculum design and pedagogy.  Those appointed will have access to all our online CPD and team meetings in the interim so they can start to feel part of the team.

LPGS is a calm, friendly and collaborative environment which offers strong staff support.  Our CPD programme gives all teachers time to pursue their own priorities.  This results in a two week October half term.  Please see application details on our website www.lpgs.bromley.sch.uk.  Completed application forms should be emailed to Vicky Rouse vr@lpgs.bromley.sch.uk.  If you are interested in this position and would like to speak to current LPGS staff before applying, please let Vicky know and she will make the necessary arrangements.

Please note that whilst you are also welcome to submit a CV, shortlisting will be based solely on our application form and your covering letter. All applicants must fully complete the LPGS Application Form.

We are a diverse school and an equal opportunities employer.  We encourage applications from BAME and LGBT colleagues.

Closing date for applications is noon on Friday 21st May 2021.  Interviews will be held w/c 24th May 2021.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure check.
