Job overview

The Governors, staff and children at Lark Hill Primary School are looking to appoint an experienced and outstanding practitioner to work within our school. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and committed teacher with experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health needs. The appointed teacher will be responsible for leading the teaching and learning in the SEMH Enhanced Resource Provision which is part of Lark Hill Primary School. The provision is for a class of up to 8 pupils aged 7 to 11 years.


All children deserve the very best and we are looking for a professional who has a passion for quality first teaching and learning. 


We require a class teacher who:

• Is an excellent classroom practitioner.

• Values a teamwork approach and able to lead a small team under the direction of the AHT/SENDCo.

• Has high standards and expectations in all areas of school life.

• Is committed to raising pupil achievement, emotional and social skills.

• Has excellent skills in behaviour management and has the capacity to develop these skills in others.

• Is able to form excellent teacher / pupil relationships.

• Is able to form excellent partnerships within our school family, other agencies and wider community. 

• Promote and model the school values of NURTURE, ACHIEVE and RESPECT

• Promote and model the school vision including infusing honesty and integrity into all of school life


In addition, the appointed person will:

 Have a secure understanding of the reasons that some children have difficulty accessing mainstream education.

 Have excellent communication skills in order to provide behaviour support to staff in mainstream schools across the authority.

 Have excellent time management skills.

 Have an understanding of the role of SENCO.
