If you are in education to make a real difference to young people’s lives, Fearnhill is for you. We are on an exciting journey with significant improvement evident across the school, a very successful recent Ofsted report, growing popularity with parents and an environment for professional development that is second to none. As a warm and inclusive community transforming the lives of young people in Letchworth, we have an opportunity for a PRE specialist to join us. We invite you to come and spend some time here; meet our students, watch innovative teaching in action and enjoy our calm and purposeful learning environment. Our ‘taster’ session will give you the opportunity to judge for yourself whether this is a school where you can grow professionally, enjoy high levels of support and be involved in exciting curriculum innovation. We welcome applications from ECTs or more experienced colleagues; an attractive recruitment and retention package is available for the successful candidate. We work flexibly; part-time applications will be considered. A message from Nick, Head of Humanities: ‘Our dedicated and enthusiastic humanities team creates a friendly working environment, with innovation and collaboration at the heart of everything we do. The team works very closely together and makes up a supportive network to enhance professional development. Philosophy, Religion and Ethics at Fearnhill continues to grow year on year across KS3 and KS4. Working with the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus for RE, we aim to enhance students’ understanding of the Big Questions and the role faith plays in human society. We work hard to ensure the students see themselves in the curriculum, with visits and speakers to help bring the subject to life.’ We look forward to meeting you; please get in touch with Head’s PA Jacqui.simmonds10@fearnhill.herts.sch.uk to arrange a visit (some costs can be covered for this), or call Liz Ellis, Headteacher, on 01462 621200 for more information.
