Are you passionate about supporting and improving science teaching? Are you knowledgeable about pedagogical approaches in science? Do you have a real passion and desire to enthuse pupils with your own love of science? Do you want the opportunity to help colleagues develop their practice? Then the role of lead teacher of science will be for you.

You will work closely with the Director or Learning – Science, to raise the achievement of all learners by ensuring teaching across the curriculum is of the highest quality.

With responsibility for improving the quality of teaching and learning within your own department first, and Academy wide second, you will be accountable for ensuring the very highest learning experience for all pupils.

You will play a key role in our Teaching and Learning Leadership Group, leading on high quality and bespoke CPD, coaching individual teachers, leading by example with early career and trainee teachers and working with the senior leadership team to improve Academy wide strategies and policy.

The post will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity for an ambitious practitioner wishing to develop their career and make a real impact on further driving up attainment and progress.

Applications are invited from experienced teachers who want to continue as classroom practitioners but would also like time to dedicate to curriculum development, to mentoring, coaching and developing other colleagues.
