Stationers' Crown Woods Academy are looking to appoint a Lead Teacher of Visual Impairment Resource Unit. This role will suit a qualified teacher who is experienced in working with students with SEND in either mainstream or specialist provisions.  We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who is qualified to work with VI students, or willing to undertake a fully funded Masters level course. This role is suitable for those already trained within a VI capacity, or a strong secondary teacher willing to train as we can support our successful candidate with this.  Our appointed candidate will continually receive support from the central council VI service. 

The Faculty of SEND and Inclusion supports pupils by helping them to develop key skills required to access mainstream education. The Faculty works collaboratively across the Academy to ensure that all pupils are able to access and enjoy all aspects of Academy life. About the role:  The successful candidate will be expected to work with students who have a visual impairment.  They will lead the designated specialist provision and support mainstream teachers to differentiate work to meet the needs of VI learners.  You will adopt a flexible approach and be a highly motivated and resilient practitioner.  You must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of legislation and guidance relating to SEND, and be able to effectively communicate information to staff.  Our successful candidate must have a truly positive approach to inclusion and have a clear understanding of the strategies used to develop inclusive practice in schools and settings for pupils with VI.  Please consult the Job Description by clicking here for further information.
