We are looking for an outstanding, dynamic Lead Teacher of physics with a passion for the subject and an ambition for further career development. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an excellent 11 – 18 Academy with a thriving sixth form. 

 

This post will provide an exciting opportunity for an ambitious practitioner wishing to develop their career further and have a real impact on the teaching and learning across all key stages. The post will involve working closely with the Director of Science to further improve the teaching and learning in Physics but also the wider department. The successful candidate will lead a team of staff in raising achievement by motivating and inspiring students to ‘be the best they can be’. 

 

The successful candidate will be offered a full programme of support and development in order to continue to progress their career. 

 

            

To succeed in the role you will have:

  • A degree in Science, with a teaching qualification
  • Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 age range, with first class classroom management skills
  • The ability to work in collaboration with other members of staff to further the department
  • Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
  • A firm understanding of key national and educational policies and issues
  • The ability to inspire high achievement in young people from all backgrounds
  • A clear commitment to improving your own performance through effective continuous professional development

Interviews Thursday 25th April 2024

 

If you are shortlisted for interview, you will be required to teach a lesson on revision of the photoelectric effect to sixth form students in either Y13 or Y12.
