Are you an exceptional and committed practitioner seeking an opportunity to build an outstanding team?  We are seeking a SENDCO who can lead our dedicated and established Learning Support Department to deliver high quality support for our students.  

Stuart Bathurst is a rapidly improving 11-18 Catholic school with approximately 900 students on roll and is situated in Wednesbury, within the local authority of Sandwell. Students and staff are warm, open and supportive to one another and proud of our school and its achievements. 

The post is key in terms of enhancing and ensuring the positive life chances for students through opportunity, success and achievement.  You will be responsible for reviewing and developing intervention strategies to support best practice in the classroom.  The successful candidate will be someone who can inspire a team of TAs and other professionals to make a positive difference to the lives of all students with SEN or a disability, providing them with the level of support and challenge that will see them achieve their full potential.  A recent review has shown some rapid progress within the SEND Department.


The successful candidate will:

• Possess a National SENCO award or equivalent (or be working  
       towards this)

• Be a highly motivated individual who has a track record of leading  
       successful team

• Have the ability to engage and inspire students and build excellent  
       relationships

• Be committed to the ethos, values and vision of Stuart Bathurst  
      Catholic High School

• Be enthusiastic and ambitious in continually improving teaching and  
       learning

• Be enthusiastic and ambitious about own career development
