Description The Leader of College Administration is a member of the College Executive Team, which comprises the Principal, Assistant Principal (s) and Leader of Ministry. The Leader of College Administration shares the responsibility for providing a quality Catholic education for students within the Josephite tradition. As a member of the College Executive Team, the Leader of College Administration will offer assistance and support in the:
• promotion of the Catholic ethos of the school
• promotion of the Josephite Charism of the College
• day to day operation of the school
• implementation of the school’s policies and procedures
• development and implementation of the College’s Strategic Plan
• initiating respectful and collaborative relationships
• promotion of the hospitality, accessibility and visibility of the College Executive Team St Joseph’s College Lochinvar, founded in 1883 by the Sisters of St Joseph offers a Catholic co-education for students from Years 7-12 St Joseph’s College, is situated 10 minutes west of Maitland and 40 minutes from Newcastle via the Hunter Expressway.
Position Requirements The Leader of College Administration implements structures and procedures that are conducive to forward planning and the efficient daily functioning of the College. The Leader of College Administration must be able to demonstrate:
• the ability to fulfil the requirements of the Diocesan Faith Education Accreditation Policy. Successful applicants will be required to be accredited within four (4) years of appointment.
• an understanding of, and a clear commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Catholic education
• the capacity and willingness, to fulfil the requirements of a being a member of the Executive Team
• a high level of proficiency as a classroom teacher
• the ability to work with organisational programmes such as WebDaily, EdVal and Compass and the capacity to use technology as an effective organisational tool
• the capacity to liaise with and collaborate with a variety of teams
• ability to work with the College Principal and Assistant Principals in regard to event management, the College Calendar, Rosters, Meetings and Briefings
• the ability to take an active role in system and College initiatives to manage and implement change
• the willingness and availability to take calls / messages from staff regarding absences
• the organisational skills required to manage staff replacements, and to coordinate and monitor casual staff
• excellent interpersonal, organisation and communication skills
• the willingness to support and undertake tasks and responsibilities that will contribute to making St Joseph’s College a highly effective school
Essential Criteria • Be appropriately qualified as a four year trained secondary teacher.
• Record current NESA and Working With Children number on application.
• applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead (formerly FEA ) and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category C – Accreditation for Leadership.
• evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. (https://etraining.allergy.org.au/login/index.php) Note: To start or return to working as a teacher in a NSW school, you must be accredited by NESA.

Conditions of EmploymentThe position attracts an allowance at the level of Coordinator 2. Initial appointment will be for two years, renewable for a further four years subject to a satisfactory performance review.
