Leader of Learning

Oxfordshire Hospital School is an outstanding and innovative school seeking a Leader of Learning for it's education provision at the Highfield Adolescent Unit  (inpatient psychiatric unit).  The post is an integral part of the school leadership team. 

We are looking for:

• A candidate with middle leader skills with high expectations of excellence and in-depth knowledge of special education needs ideally gained in the hospital education sector, Alternative Provision or outreach education.
• An inspirational professional with the skills and personality to take this outstanding school further on its journey. The ability to demonstrate the vision and values of the school in everyday work and practice.
• A leader committed to exciting and innovative approaches in all aspects of the school’s work.
• A leader with excellent communication skills, who will have an open and supportive approach to inspire and develop a staff team.
• A leader who can build positive relationships with the whole school community and wider stakeholders.

The Highfield Adolescent Unit is a Tier 4 tertiary referral inpatient adolescent psychiatric unit with 18 beds plus 2 high dependency beds (Age range: 11-18). The Highfield serves young people with a range of mental health issues including psychosis, eating disorders, severe depression, bi-polar disorder, and OCD.

The post is full time and involves 0.4 fte teaching commitment.
