Job overview

This is an exciting role to help run our growing Outdoor Education provision at one of London's highest achieving comprehensive schools. The School has an RAF CCF contingent with 22 cadets in Year 9 and Year 10, and the aim to increase this to 40 by July 2020. We are looking to have a colleague with the ability to lead this through acting as our School Staff Instructor, as well as oversee the running of Duke of Edinburgh on which we currently have 53 students enrolled with the aim of increasing this to 80 by June 2020. Developing our students’ character, well-being and leadership through these programmes features on our School Development Plan, and has the support of the Governing Body, Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. The school is also looking to find other was of developing our students’ experiences of Outdoor Education, including through taking part in expeditions.

Consistently outstanding results of the students place Central Foundation Boys’ School among the top performing schools in the country. In 2018, the School’s Progress 8 was 0.7 with 81% of students achieving a grade A*-C (4-9) in both English and Maths. The School’s aim, however, is to provide its students not only with the top quality academic provision but also with an exciting and inspiring outdoor education.

The behaviour of students is outstanding and the disciplined environment allows the teachers to focus on delivering great academic outcomes.

We are very ambitious in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our students. We set high standards for all professionals working at the school but we also provide a very strong net of support for both new and existing colleagues.

Central Foundation is:
