Appleton Academy is an all through learning environment for pupils from nursery through to secondary and our building provides a wonderful environment for lifelong learning, in South Bradford.

This post is an all through role and an exciting opportunity for recruits who can see the benefit of all though education in supporting children and young people with special and additional needs from Nursery through to the moment they leave education as young adults. SEN and Learning support is integrated across all age phases and includes intervention, new to English support, the deployment of Teaching Assistants and management of ‘The Hub’ which is an area of the building specialising in supporting some of our most vulnerable learners. 

Appleton Academy has an holistic approach to SEN and Learning Support and as such this post is open to both primary and secondary specialists. The successful candidate will either be an experienced SEN leader or may be wishing to develop their career in special needs and learning support.

The successful applicant will:

• Have Qualified Teacher Status (Secondary age range)

• Have evidence of current and relevant leadership CPD

• Be an experienced middle leader

• Have evidence as an outstanding practitioner
