Job overview

Contract type: Full time

Scale: LP4 to 8

Ridgeway High School is a popular and oversubscribed school. The governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader who has the drive and passion to make a difference to students at the school.

Technology and Art are popular subjects at KS3 and KS4.  We have recently reviewed the curriculum allocation time at KS3 to allow a linear approach to curriculum delivery.  At KS4 a number of different courses are offered including product design, hospitality and catering, art and design and graphics. The successful candidate can offer any specialism.

We are looking for a leader to develop the world class curriculum in this area so that students can innovate and develop deep understanding that goes beyond the national curriculum.

We are proud to offer the successful candidate:

• State of the art equipment

• Specialist rooms

• enthusiastic and motivated students, staff, and governors

• A school day that supports well-being and a family friendly approach

• A well-being charter that offers addition PPA time

• Joint planning to support work load

• A centralised homework strategy that supports students’ retrieval practice

• a caring, inclusive and supportive environment in which learning thrives

• an ethos of supporting every student to fulfil their aspirations

We are looking for teachers who:

• believe that all children can achieve

• possess the enthusiasm, energy and dedication to make lessons in their department area successful and a route to help students engage with learning

• have unrelenting enthusiasm for extra-curricular provision
