Description The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) is currently seeking a highly proficient and experienced Leadership Coach (K-12) to join the team from January 2022.

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) is responsible for the leadership, operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 21,000 students in 44 primary schools, 11 secondary schools, one K–12 school, one flexible learning centre and one special school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.

The role will work to build the leadership capacity of all newly appointed and experienced middle leaders and Religious Education Coordinators, enabling them to explore strategies for self and school improvement. The role will support middle leaders in delivering organizational effectiveness, quality teaching and in developing healthy, sustainable leadership practices.

The Leadership Coach (K-12) will:


• Coach identified middle leaders and RECs through:

o Supporting their identification of appropriate professional goals in order to build their capacity as leaders

o Providing quality feedback to develop their professional practices as identified in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers


• Plan and deliver a high quality professional learning program to support beginning and middle leaders in their leadership journey


• With the RE&S team, collaboratively plan and deliver a regular professional learning program to support RECs to build their capacity as leaders and their profile as knowledgeable others


• Support Assistant Director in coordinating Leader of Wellbeing and Engagment days and facilitating as required


• Provide appropriate professional development to school leadership teams following request by principal and approval by Team Head



The position of Leadership Coach (K-12) is being offered on a full-time permanent basis commencing in January 2022.
Essential Criteria The applicant must provide evidence of the following:

• Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and to ensure a Catholic perspective across the curriculum

• Current employment as a senior school leader with demonstrated leadership qualities preferably at assistant principal level (minimum five years)

• A substantial record of achievement in planning, developing and leading effective contemporary professional learning and building the capacity of school leaders to support innovative change in schools

• Demonstrated experience in using data effectively and supporting school leaders in developing evidence-based strategic planning to deliver improved student outcomes and CSO systemic strategic directions and priorities

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and respectfully alongside school colleagues across a range of school settings
Desirable Criteria • Evidence of coaching qualifications and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in coaching to build leadership and organisational effectiveness within a school setting

• A strong understanding of the nature and purpose of Catholic schooling and/or educational leadership

• Postgraduate qualifications at Masters level

QUALIFICATIONS/ACCREDITATIONS
The applicant must provide evidence of the following:

• Four-year trained teacher classification

• NESA Teacher Accreditation

• Working with Children Clearance number

Conditions of EmploymentSalary is in accordance with Catholic Schools Office, Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle Employees Enterprise Agreement 2019-2021 and will be determined based on skills and experience.

The Catholic Schools Office (CSO), is responsible for the leadership, efficient operation and management of systemic schools which educate more than 18,000 students in 45 Primary schools, 10 Secondary schools and one K-12 school in the Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle.
