Job overview

We are seeking passionate, highly skilled teacher who will challenge and support pupils and staff to achieve their best outcomes, initially through Vision for Education.

Setting an example as an excellent SEND and Autism practitioner, as well as holding superb skills in coaching and mentoring, you will lead by example and form the link between department you run and SLT.  

This role would suit an individual with people management skills looking for the next step in their career.  You will be keen to make a positive impact in shaping  the future success of the school, taking overall responsibility for your department and the quality of teaching and learning and wider provision within it, feeding into key decisions and ensuring the delivery of policy made at SLT level.   

This opportunity has arisen due to promotion and reorganisation. You would be first port of call for 6 teachers and a team of TAs within the department on a day to day and line management level.  

You would be the first point of reference for any concerns issues  arising within the department.  This would include advising on staff planning, assessment and progress; checking and feeding back on end of year reports.  

To achieve success in this post you will need to be practical, reflective, analytical and self-evaluating, building team commitment and positive mind set.  The role will also encompass planning organising events, coordinating, assemblies, fundraising, all contributing to the successful running of the department.  

The successful candidate will be a staff member who is ambitious for their pupils, and extremely familiar with working with students with Autism and skilfully managing the associated challenges and behaviours, as well as an ability to lead, support and inspire less experienced colleagues to work at to the best of their ability.  

The teaching timetable with comprise 4 days per week (0.8), with PPA and management time forming the remaining day.  An SEN point may be awarded to those with relevant SEND qualification.
