We are seeking to appoint a Learner Services and Libraries Manager to join our dedicated Sixth Form Department in May 2017. This permanent position is offered at a salary of between £35,516 - £38,294 per annum.

Strode’s Sixth Form College has provided high quality sixth form education for 16-18-year-old students since 1975. Our purpose is to inspire students to fulfil their potential and successfully progress onto their next steps. Currently the College has approximately 1030 full-time students and serves a wide area of North West Surrey and outer London with students coming from over 80 different feeder schools. Now is an exciting time to join our team as in 2017, Strode’s College is due to complete a formal merger with East Berkshire College to form a larger college group. This will provide greater opportunities for all our students, staff and the communities of Berkshire and Surrey. East Berkshire College is a thriving Further Education college, with over 500 staff providing high quality training and education to some 8,500 students and 2,000 employers with campuses in Langley and Windsor serving the diverse communities of Berkshire and West London. 

This role will have operational responsibility and management of the Learner Services and Libraries provision at Strode’s and Windsor College’s as part of the merged group. 

The Learner Services and Libraries Manager (Sixth Form) needs to be educated to degree level or equivalent. The successful candidate will have extensive team management experience, with at least two years’ experience of working successfully with young people from diverse backgrounds, within an educational or youth work setting, as well as sound experience of safeguarding and child protection practices. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience of managing budgets and analysing management information.

The Learner Services and Libraries team has a wide reaching role supporting students’ academic success during their time at the College. Functions include financial support and free college meals provision, welfare / pastoral care, safeguarding, careers advice and guidance, counselling, attendance monitoring, first aid, research and study skills support. In addition, staff support with general library services and administrative duties that are completed in line with College priorities. 

All eligible employees are offered membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
