Job overview

Learning Advocates are at the heart of supporting individual or small groups of learners with their GCSE and Functional English and maths.  This is an enhanced support role and can be extremely useful for individuals considering developing into teaching.  You would support learners outside of their classes, working closely with the English and Maths teams and vocational curriculum staff.   This will involve planning support sessions and providing regular feedback to supported learners to enable them to develop confidence and make progress in their English and maths classes.

Ideally, we are looking for candidates that have a passion for maths and / or English. You should have a good level of numeracy and literacy skills, and have some experience of supporting young people with numeracy or literacy needs in an educational environment.   You will have good communication skills, be well-organised and be able to motivate and build good working relationships with young people.
