Job overview

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs? If so, Albemarle Primary School is seeking a dedicated professional like you to join our team. Our focus is on nurturing the potential of every student in our Early years and Key Stages 1 and 2, providing them with the support they need to thrive. Here, you will find a dedicated team of professionals who are not only hardworking but deeply committed to the holistic development of each child.

We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, ambitious Learning and Behaviour Mentor to join our team of passionate professionals. The ideal candidate will be eager to make a difference to the lives of children aged 3 to 11. Ideally, you will be a confident and calm communicator, have experience working with children in a school environment, and feel confident supporting children who may display challenging behaviour or who may find emotionally regulating or engaging with learning or safe play more difficult.

You will have the skills to support children and staff to identify and overcome possible barriers to learning, and will work with children on a 1:1 and small group basis within the classroom environment as well as outside.  You will liaise confidently with teachers, teaching assistants, school leaders, and wellbeing practitioners - so the ability to work in a team is essential. You will support the year group teams in reviewing, writing and implementing behaviour support plans. Parent engagement and collaborative working is key in successful behavioural interventions - so part of the role will also be working with families and carers to ensure that their views are listened to and that they are also supported.

Please note: the school reserves the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date.

Shortlisting: Friday 28th March

Interviews: Tuesday 1st April

Start date: ASAP
