The role will help provide a professional, comprehensive, and accurate learning and development service for the College working with colleagues in the Innovation and Excellence team. There is a specific remit of co-ordinating all development activity across the College and working with stakeholders to develop and deliver engaging and inclusive learning solutions that meet the needs of the business.


The L&D Manager will be involved in supporting the College transformation programme and the development of the College into an anti-racist organisation.


The L&D Manager will also work closely with the Innovation and Excellence team to ensure that teaching staff are expert within their subject area and have a high level of pedagogical knowledge to enable delivery of high quality education and training

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.

That’s not to say our college doesn’t offer its own fair share of experiences. Within the 5 locations the following are available;
