An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified and experienced secondary school teacher to join our School in the leadership role of Learning Area Leader – HPE.  Commencing in 2021, this is a permanent full-time teaching position with the Learning Area Leader role being a tenured position of responsibility for an initial period of 3 years.

The role is based at our Senior Campus and is an integral part of the School’s teaching and learning programme. The successful applicant will work with members of the School’s Leadership team to deliver exemplary educational experiences, particularly within the Health and Physical Education subject areas.

Applicants will have:

• demonstrated experience in the provision of educational leadership to teams,

• experience in coordinating and maximising student learning outcomes,

• experience in developing and implementing programmes and structures that support student learning and wellbeing,

• demonstrated high level communication skills,

• sound ICT skills, particularly in the use of computers as a learning technology in skills,

• personal attributes including leadership, dependability, adaptability/flexibility, integrity, achievement/effort and initiative.

• tertiary qualifications in Education essential and post graduate qualifications desirable,

• current registration with the Tasmanian Teacher’s Registration Board, or be eligible for registration,

• current registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Tasmania), or be eligible for registration,

• sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum as it relates to the teaching of health and physical education.

About Launceston Church Grammar School


The School


Launceston Church Grammar School is a co-educational Anglican School that has two campuses: The Broadland Campus and the Mowbray Campus. 


The Broadland Campus is located in East Launceston (five minutes from the CBD) and caters for Pre-Kinder to Grade 6.  The Junior Campus is in the candidate stage of gaining full programme authorisation with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) which is now fully embedded within the curriculum.  


The Mowbray Campus is located in Mowbray (ten minutes from the CBD) and caters for Grades 7 to 12.   Launceston Church Grammar School has a Boarding House, which is located at the Mowbray Campus and accommodates students from Grades 5 to 12
