This newly designated Learning Area seeks to provide more choice and progression pathways for learners wanting to pursue Business and Technology related courses. Encompassing, approximately 450 vocational full-time students, 350 A level students and 1100 part- time/ ‘Professional’ students, this is a high performing area with particular levels of excellence within the ‘A’ Level provision and our award winning ‘UK College of the Year’ Accountancy Team. At present, the curriculum ranges from Level 1 – Level 7, with exciting opportunities for further development of our HE provision; expansion of apprenticeships through our large Work Based learning contract and meeting the IT needs identified within the ‘Internet Coast’ City Deal proposals outlined for the Swansea Bay City Region. The curriculum is taught at our 2 largest campuses, and at our Professional Centre, Sketty Hall by a highly professional and dedicated staff of 70.
The Learning Area Manager will be responsible for the effective academic management and quality assurance of their area. Contributing to the development of an aspirational culture of innovation and outstanding learner experience, the successful candidate will develop an appropriately commercially focused curriculum which meets the local and regional priority needs and maximises employability prospects for our learners.
Holding a first degree in a related discipline and a teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent), you will ideally possess a Post Graduate/Higher degree in management or be willing to work towards one.
With a knowledge of local/regional and national context affecting FE colleges including curriculum development, you will have an understanding of FE funding methodologies including HE, WBL, 14-16 and ideally experience of developing and accrediting HE provision.
We are looking for candidates who can bring innovation, energy and a can-do attitude, supported by an in-depth knowledge of a relevant sector and understanding of the skills needs, as well as relevant industry contacts.

Gower College Swansea (Coleg Gwyr Abertawe) is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in West Glamorgan, Wales. The college, situated in Swansea has over 7,000 students studying there every year.
Gower College Swansea was established in 2010 after the merge of Gorseinon College and Swansea College. The college has campuses in Tycoch and Gorseinon, along with smaller learning centres at Gorseinon Centre, Broadway, Kingsway, Llwyn Y Bryn, Sketty Hall and Sandringham Park.
