Job overview

We are looking for a Learning Assistant to join our outstanding school supporting a child on a 1:1 basis.

A can do approach and flexibility are essential attributes we are looking for. This is initially for a fixed term contract until December 2023, following which there will be the possibility this will become a continued contract.

Ideally you will be an experienced Learning Assistant with knowledge of SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs, but whatever your level of experience please use the supporting statement on the application form to show us how you match the skills we need and what you can bring to the role.

At the GLF Banbury Cluster of Schools ( Longford Park, William Morris, Hardwick and Cherry Fields) you will find all of these things and you will be supported by a leadership team judged Outstanding by OFSTED.

Your opportunity

Our Learning Assistants really are valued members of our team and are expected to support the education and progress of either an assigned child who needs additional support with their learning, or in a more generalist role within a classroom.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing, diverse and welcoming primary school. Our schools have a passion for and, understanding of, what effective learning is and we help to inspire our pupils to be the best they can be. In return for your hard work we can offer excellent CPD opportunities and the support of a strong collaborative team.

Our brand new one form entry school opened its doors to reception and nursery children for the first time in September 2020 in Banbury; We are located on the Belway housing developments of Hanwell View and Cherry Fields, off Southam Road. Each year our school will increase its age range, adding an additional year group until it is an all through primary school in 2026.

We are proud of our new school and its amazing facilities, inside and outside the classroom, that will allow us to deliver our exciting and enriching curriculum. As a GLF Academy school, we are wholly committed to ensuring the highest standard of education and provision for our children.

Our strongest motivation is a passion for learning. Our aim is to ensure that when children leave us, they are empowered with a love of learning, confidence through developing a strong vocabulary and an insatiable zest for life and all the wonderful opportunities that they will one day experience and have access to. For us here at Cherry Fields, learning is a broad umbrella. Our curriculum is posited on the theories of knowledge acquisition and reducing cognitive load. Our staff team have been developing this curriculum in our sister schools over the last 2 years, meaning that we are on the front foot of embedded curriculum design and educational theory - please read all about our exciting STEAM curriculum in the curriculum section of our website.

Cherry Fields Primary is part of the GLF Schools Multi Academy Trust, alongside Longford Park Primary (opened in September 2017), Hardwick Primary and William Morris Primary, and therefore will benefit from sharing outstanding resources and support.
