Based at Elmbank School, Dumfries, you will support young people who have social, emotional and behavioural needs to access education.

You will be required to work 12 hours, 38 week per year.

It may be possible to recruit one candidate that will fill both posts, or two separate candidates.

You will work with a team of teachers and other learning assistants to provide educational opportunities for young people, including supporting them within Elmbank and on an outreach basis in a mainstream school.

You will have experience of working with children or young people and an understanding of additional support needs. You will be flexible, enthusiastic and sensitive to pupil needs. You should have a standard grade qualification in both Maths and English.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident

12 hours temporary over two days (temporary until 30 June 2017)
