Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Assistant to join us and also cover classes in the absence of the Class Teacher.
You will be required to help with the organising and running of intervention groups across the academy and also cover classes in the absence of the Class Teacher, including unplanned absence and/or planned absence due to the allocation of PPA time.
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to gain teaching experience and develop a wide range of skills whilst working in a friendly and supportive environment.
To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

- The ability to relate to and engage with a wide range of pupils
- The ability to ensure high standards in terms of achievement and behaviour
This role is for 32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday and is required in term time (39 weeks); therefore, this is reflected in the pro rata salary.

Nethergate Academy is a special academy in the City of Nottingham for just over 160 pupils aged 5–19 with a range of moderate and complex learning difficulties, including a new provision for children with autism as their primary need.
