We have a fantastic opportunity at our Maidstone Campus for an experienced and interactive Learning Centre Coach to join the team on a full time, term time only basis for 1 year fixed term. With small class sizes, excellent facilities, outstanding behaviour and a values-based ethos to support staff and student wellbeing, you will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson.
Our students are provided with innovative teaching, empowered by new technology, including Zoom and the Learning Management System ‘Canvas’. Aligned with local curriculum, our students are supported by teachers to take ownership of their learning as part of our Self-Directed Learning pedagogy. We are looking for conscientious and hard-working individuals who are passionate about modern education and pay meticulous attention to detail.
You will:
- Have experience working with students across a range of year groups KS3-KS5
- Able to support students with professional skills acquisition, including time management and task organisation
- Experience coaching and mentoring students
- Have Level 3 qualifications and Grade A* - C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
- Set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive, appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels
- Ensure high standards are maintained, progressed and promoted in all areas of work
- Uphold and promulgate the OSG UK ethos within all areas of responsibility

Key responsibilities:
- To facilitate high quality learning in the Learning Centre and other learning environments, ensuring the highest standards of learning, behaviour and achievement for all pupils
- The role of Learning Centre Coach is to work alongside teaching colleagues, under the direction of the Campus Principal and SLT, as a lead coach, mentoring students, to facilitate them becoming self directed learners
- To work with the students, understanding how to motivate and encourage them to develop and achieve
- To ensure student planning is completed and effective and time is carefully accounted for and utilised
- To ensure the Self-Directed Learning philosophy of the school is present in the opportunities presented to the students
- To set high expectations for student behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline based on mutual respect and personal responsibility
- To communicate effectively with Key Stage Progress Leads, working together to ensure individual, class and whole school progress
- To work closely with the Learning Support Coordinator and Learning Support team to enable all learners make maximum progress
- To set a good example to the students through one’s presentation and ones’ personal conduct in line with the OneSchool Vision
- To take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to equality of opportunity
