Glenmoor and Winton Academies are looking to appoint an outstanding and highly motivated individual to join our dedicated and effective SENDCo team and specify in a particular area of additional needs.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Learning Coach to join our outstanding schools and be part of England's biggest Multi Academy Trust. This role could suit someone with previous experience working in a school, or alternatively it would be an ideal role for a recent graduate who is looking to explore a career in education or potentially get on the career path to teaching. Furthermore, Glenmoor and Winton Academies offer the opportunity to complete teacher training via ‘United Teaching’. Working as a Learning Coach could count as invaluable experience for this if you are looking to pursue a career in teaching.

 

The successful candidate must:

·        Be caring, patient and supportive with a positive attitude

·        Passionate and hardworking to champion vulnerable students

·        Have excellent communication skills

·        Be able to motivate, inspire and encourage students

·        Be resilient, resourceful and have high expectations of students’ achievement and behaviour

·        Enjoy working as part of a hardworking team

·        Be committed to professionally develop via our in-house CPD offer and external providers

 

The successful candidate will ideally have a knowledge and understanding of:

·        Barriers to students’ learning

·        Targeted small group and 1:1 programmes

·        How children learn and how to engage with them

Glenmoor Academy, located in Ensbury Park, Bournemouth, Dorset, is a mainstream secondary school for girls aged 11-16. It has around 573 students. 

The academy was founded in 1877 as Winton British School for boys and girls; it opened with 40 pupils and all lessons were held in the Winton Congregational Church. Later, the land for the Winton and Moordown Schools was bought and work began to build an establishment for 1,250 children, which opened in January 1911.
