Job overview

Chelmsford College is a successful and dynamic further education  college that aspires to excellence in all it does. To improve upon our previous  tutorial programme for learners, the College changed the tutorial model with a  student outcome focus where the progress of each individual learner is the  priority and the support is geared to ensuring that all elements of a learners programme are successful enabling his or her progression.

We are looking to recruit to the post of  Learning Coach who will deliver the tutorial programme for all groups of  learners in a high quality tutorial environment supported by the appropriate  student support services. The Learning Coaches will support the learner from  induction to progression, will work closely with curriculum teams to ensure the  best experience for each learner and also work in the Assessment  Centres.

Candidates should have well developed  communication skills to be able to relate and empathise with students in need of  support and to develop trusting and respectful relationships with them. Prior  experience of working in an educational establishment is not essential but  successful candidates should be aspiring to a career in education. Training will  be provided for candidates to undertake the Level 3 Award in Education and  Training.
