We are seeking a new member of staff on a full time basis to work in this ‘Good’ school with children with Special Educational Needs aged 5-11 years for this Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant role.
To work in this Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant role you must have experience of working with children, young people or adults with Special Needs, Disability or Learning Difficulties.
The purpose of the Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant role is to support the class teacher, support individual children’s learning, mobility, physical and medical needs; assisting in the effective, safe and purposeful running of the classroom.
All staff working in this setting must be happy to assist children with personal care needs. Working hours are 8.40-3.30pm
The Learning Difficulties Teaching Assistant will be working as part of a friendly, child centred team who:
Prioritise inclusion and dignity
Use sensory approaches to learning
Communicate with AAC – PECs, picture cues, signing
Experience in a related or similar role will be highly advantageous. You must be prepared to complete or provide a certificate demonstrating up to date Safeguarding and Child Protection Training (Free of charge through Vision for Education).
