Job overview

We are looking for an exceptional SEN Teacher to join our Learning Enhancement Department. 

Qualification Requirements and Experience

Essential:

  • Qualification in Primary Education (PGCE or equivalent)
  • Experience in teaching pupils with SEND (specifically Years 1 - 5)
  • Excellent teaching skills in Phonics, English and Numeracy

 

Desired:

  • Qualification in SpLD 
  • Experience in teaching pupils with EAL 

 

Job Description

  • To teach pupils in 1:1 Learning Enhancement Lessons & Booster Groups with a broad range of needs (including SEMH)
  • To plan and resource for 1:1 Learning Enhancement Lessons & Booster Groups
  • To evaluate Learning Enhancement Lessons & Booster Groups
  • To assess pupil progress half termly and to take part in pupil progress meetings (APDR) 
  • To create and evaluate Learning Support Plans 
  • To deliver termly Learning Support Plan Meetings
  • To liaise closely with parents and staff
  • To keep up to date records for Learning Enhancement pupils e.g. pupil provision and tracking documents, records of intervention
  • To support pupils with 1:1 Examination Access Arrangements
  • To create an inspiring learning environment for Learning Enhancement pupils 
  • To complete regular CPD 
  • To work closely with the school SENCO
  • To run Booster Groups / individual lessons for pupils with EAL needs
  • To fulfil any additional school duties
