Surrey Square Primary School came into being in January 2011, following the merger of the previous Infant and Junior schools. Since then, we have been highly effective in forming a single, unified team which is working at a high level. Rated ‘Good’ in our June 2012 Ofsted, we have since made rapid progress towards our goal of being outstanding, not only in Ofsted’s eyes, but also our own.
We have a highly ambitious vision, not only for Surrey Square, but also for the impact our practice can have on others, and are excited about the opportunities at the current time to work as system leaders. In order to build the internal capacity of the school, we have taken the decision to move to a new model of leadership, with two co-heads and two deputies. The deputies will have very high levels of whole school responsibility and accountability, and play a critical role in long term strategic development
