Learning Manager

De Warenne Academy are looking to appoint a Learning Manager to join our academy as soon as possible, on a full time, permanent basis.

Your new role

As a Learning Manager, you will support student learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in order to maximise student attainment.

Hours:  37 hours per week / Term Time only plus 10 days (40 weeks).

As an Academy we are looking for a dedicated and approachable Learning Manager who genuinely cares about supporting young people to succeed, both academically and personally. The successful candidate will take real pride in working closely with a year group, getting to know students as individuals and helping them overcome any barriers that may impact their learning or wellbeing.

We are looking for a highly organised and efficient person, using data and day to day observations to keep a close eye on attendance, behaviour, and progress.  Although you will have responsibility for your own year group, we strongly believe in teamwork. Working closely with colleagues across the school, including senior leaders, the safeguarding team, teachers and other support staff you will ensure every student is supported from all angles. We value open communication and always aim to build strong, positive relationships with staff, students and parents. Above all, you will need to be passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where students feel valued, motivated, and able to achieve their full potential.

Your new school

Our aim is for all our students to learn in a positive, safe and supportive environment where academic achievement is celebrated and effort and attitude to learning is rewarded. Since our OFSTED inspection in October 2021, which deemed De Warenne a ‘Good’ school in all areas, GCSE results have shown a continuous improvement year on year.

The class of 2025 left our Academy with fantastic results; 54% of students gaining a grade 5 or above in both English and maths, which is the highest attainment in the history of the Academy and making it one of the highest attaining schools in Doncaster. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, with academic, vocational and technical subjects offered to all our students and we deliver a rich and varied personal development curriculum. We serve the villages of Conisbrough and Denaby Main, situated between Doncaster and Rotherham.  We are a small but oversubscribed academy, with over 750 students on roll, and we pride ourselves on knowing our students well and doing our best to ensure everyone fulfils their potential.
