Job overview

Outwood Academy Acklam has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to join us for a period of maternity cover. You will be required to support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in order to maximise student attainment.

Supporting our students to be the best they can be is integral to our academy.  The role involves monitoring all students in the year group both academically and with behavioural issues. You will work closely with the Inclusion Co-ordinator, The Bridge and the Vice Principal for Deep Support on intervention strategies, and targeting students for intervention.

You will be part of an amazing team of Learning Managers, Lead Learning Manager and Pastoral Support Officers who work together to give superb support to our students.

The successful applicant will utilise the Academy’s systems to track and intervene with serial internal truants or students who are consistently late for lessons. Your role will have emphasis on intervention and student tracking throughout the day using the Academy’s “Praising Stars” system. You will attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in your year alongside preparing referrals and reports for those students identified as needing intervention.

Outwood Academy Acklam is proud to be an IQM Centre of Excellence and hold Carnegie Mental Health Award Gold Status, both evidence to our unrelenting commitment to student welfare and wellbeing.

Internal applicants would require express approval from their Principal to transfer to this role.

As part of the Outwood Grange Family of Schools you will be offered high quality support and programmes of professional development, which provide many opportunities for colleagues at all levels.

Please note that CVs will not be accepted as part of our recruitment process. If you require further information please contact Abbey Davies HR Admin on a.davies@acklam.outwood.com
