30 hours per week (part-time hours will be considered)

We are seeking to appoint a Pupil Premium Learning Mentor to join a friendly, mutually supportive team working in a dedicated classroom. We are looking for a suitable person who can attend to the educational and personal needs of pupil premium students in order to support their learning and development and to promote their wellbeing. 

The successful candidate will be proactive, positive and flexible, and be able to work as a team member planning and implementing intervention work with students and supporting them in their progress.

As support with GCSE maths and English in particular are a key part of this role, Learning Mentors must have a minimum of C grade in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.

The successful candidate should have good organisational skills, an ability to think quickly and communicate effectively. A willingness to motivate and encourage young people is essential, as is a good sense of humour. 

Cedars is a high performing, and very popular 13-18 upper school of 1171 students in the small town of Leighton Buzzard. The school enjoys a fine reputation in the area, attaining consistently excellent results.
