Are you a patient, enthusiastic and hardworking individual who is looking for a challenging but very rewarding role as a Learning Mentor? As a Learning Mentor you will be supporting students with a range of emotional, behavioural or social issues.
The successful candidate will work with a team of staff that undertakes a wide range of pastoral responsibilities within the school. Working 1 to 1 with students and liaising with outside agencies. Supporting teaching and learning by making referrals and supporting students with barriers to learning.
As the ideal candidate, you will:
* have the ability to engage constructively with, and build working relationships with, a wide range of young people and their families
* have the ability to work effectively as part of a team with teaching staff and outside agencies
* have the experience of supporting students with mental health, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* have a willingness to manage their own time effectively, work flexibly and use their own initiative

St Nicholas Catholic High School is a mixed catholic secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in Northwich, Cheshire, and caters for approximately 1,250 pupils.
The school opened as a secondary modern in 1965, becoming a comprehensive school in 1972. It is a voluntary-aided school.

As a Catholic School, Gospel values permeate all the work undertaken in St Nicholas Catholic High School. Pupils are encouraged to recognise the importance of education in their own fulfillment as well as for the betterment of society.
The school aims to nurture students’ faith through liturgical celebration, and provides pupils with opportunities to take part in retreats. St Nicholas welcomes the views of parents, and considers them to be central to the successful education of their children.
