The City of Derby Academy opened on 1 June 2013 replacing the predecessor Sinfin Community School. The academy has capacity for 1050 students aged 11-16. It occupies a large, level site to the south of Derby and boasts impressive, modern buildings which were opened in 2008. The academy offers easy access to Leicester and Nottingham as well as the Peak District.

There are currently approximately 800 students on roll though all indications are that this will rise significantly over the next few years.

In many respects we have traditional values. We expect staff, led by the Principal and his senior team, to be highly visible role models for the pupils. We place an emphasis on being smart, polite and hard-working. Our students are expected to be ambassadors for our academy. We serve a diverse community and we work hard to address the barriers to learning that our pupils face.

We are ambitious for the future and are keen to recruit highly motivated staff able to contribute to our development. Whilst we have made significant progress we are mindful of the challenges ahead. If you are seeking a role which has real worth and have the skills and attributes to make a difference we would love to hear from you.
