Help make an Everyday Breakthrough happen by joining our team.

A breakthrough can seem like the smallest thing, but it can make the world of difference to someone on the autism spectrum. By becoming a learning mentor you’ll help make Everyday Breakthroughs happen more often.

We are looking for learning mentors at our new Anderson School. You’ll be working with autistic children and young adults in a school setting.

One of the key goals of the school is to provide a tailored programme that enables all of our learners to progress in higher education or into full time paid employment. We inspire students, families and employers through developing a national example of best practice in supporting young autistic people into employment. It is a hub of knowledge and expertise incorporating strong links with leading universities and other educational establishments and is set on the NAS Enterprise Campus across 13 acres of land with all new purpose-built buildings and facilities.

Being a learning mentor takes bravery, patience and commitment. But working with autistic people gives so much more in return.

We need you to be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people.Along with a host of benefits – from shopping discounts to flexible working and a competitive pension scheme - we’ll make sure you get excellent autism-specific training to further your career.

You will have had experience of working with young people on the autism spectrum, and if you share our values and are willing to make a difference to the lives of autistic people, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews will be held: Thursday 22nd March at Anderson School

If you have any specific questions about the role, get in touch with Gary Simm (principal)  Gary.Simm@nas.org.uk

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, challenges perceptions and build a society that works for autistic people.
