Term Time only (37 hours/44.5weeks)
Coppice Performing Arts School is a popular and oversubscribed school in Wolverhampton, on the border with Staffordshire and Walsall.
For September 2017 we require an enthusiastic Learning Mentor to support our English Department.
The successful candidate will be an English graduate, calm and ordered with an authoritative presence. He/she will be responsible for providing a complimentary service to the school in order to help students overcome barriers to learning, and developing their potential by raising standards of learning. Experience of working with and being able to establish a good rapport with young people is essential.
You will be joining our school at an exciting time – Coppice was part of the Wolverhampton Phase 1 BSF programme completed in 2013. This has provided us with a massively refurbished and extended teaching facility including specialist Science Laboratories and Performance Studios and a variety of different learning areas which enhances the exciting and innovative teaching and learning developments that departments can offer. All areas have benefited from significant ICT investment to provide state-of-the art resources for learning. The English department moved into their fully refurbished classrooms within the Communications Zone in April 2012 which includes specialist rooms, interactive white boards in all learning spaces, dedicated Mac suite and laptop provision.
You must have high standards and a keen desire to further demonstrate and develop your skills.
Informal visits are welcomed.
Coppice Performing Arts School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
