Learning Mentor required for new Resourced Provision for pupils with SEMHD

Alexandra is a vibrant two-form entry Primary School with a Nursery situated in Wood Green, North London. We are proud to be culturally diverse and have a strong inclusive ethos. In September 2025 we will be opening a Resourced Provision for Primary pupils with SEMHD. We are looking for a Learning Mentor with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of vulnerable learners.

 

The Role:

The Resourced Provision Learning Mentor will be an integral part of the teaching team in the provision and Inclusion Team at Alexandra, you will provide:

  • Pastoral support for pupils in the provision, addressing social and emotional barriers to learning.
  • Intensive academic support, plan and deliver small group and one-to-one learning interventions.
  • Engagement strategies and behaviour support, helping students participate in school activities inside and outside the classroom.

 

We are looking for:

  • High energy, resilience and a positive approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; commitment to building strong relationships with children, staff, families and external agencies.
  • A deep commitment to improving the life chances and educational outcomes of disengaged learners and vulnerable children at risk of exclusion.
  • Experience of trauma informed practice (or similar) and working successfully with pupils with SEMHD in an educational setting.
  • A passion for personal growth and professional learning.
