About Willen Primary School

Willen Primary School is a large, thriving, dynamic school with a capacity of 420 children. This popular school has a history of being over-subscribed and we expect the 2017 Early Years intake to once again be 60 with a waiting list. The staff team is made up of committed professionals who are passionate about Willen Primary and the wonderful children who attend the school. 'Willen Primary is a school where everyone flourishes'

At Willen, innovative use has been made of the learning environment and each area is focused and equipped to enable staff to deliver outstanding learning opportunities. A unique feature of the school is the 'Lounge' area where our Learning Mentor works closely with children and families to ensure all children are able to reach their full potential. The 'team' atmosphere is a real strength of the staff at Willen Primary and going the extra mile is the norm. Our staff range from experienced leaders to those in the early stages of their career, but all staff are encouraged to continue to improve and develop their practice through a rigorous, well-structured programme of professional development.

The school is laid out in four distinct areas - Early Years, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Hall/Administration. The school is smart and beautifully presented and we place high expectations on everyone who enters our building. The outdoor space is a real bonus and is very well equipped with two large concrete playgrounds, extensive green field areas, an all-weather activity playground and a quiet area known as R&R which is manned at break times by experienced playleaders.

Our curriculum, led by a senior teacher, is both broad and balanced. We encourage theme days and visits/visitors to enhance learning. More information about the enrichment activities we offer can be found on our website. http://willen.eschools.co.uk/website

We are part of the local community and greatly value the part played by all those involved in the daily life of the school. We have an active parents' association who work hard to raise funds for the school.

We would welcome the opportunity to show you around our wonderful school so you can meet our excellent pupils and enthusiastic staff. We look forward to meeting you.

Willen Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
