Learning Mentor (Pastoral Manager)
Required Learning Mentor (Pastoral Manager) (XS 10b/c) - Grade 7/9 (to be discussed at interview) – 37 hours per week (term time inc. inset days + 2 additional weeks)
This is a new position. We are seeking to appoint a hard-working, enthusiastic and reliable Learning Mentor (Pastoral Manager) to join our staff. Ideally the successful candidate would be able to take up post September 2018. This post would involve working 37 hours per week during term time including inset days. The specific framework of the day will be decided with the successful applicant but the general timeframe will be based around 8.30am until 4.30pm. The main purpose is to Assist the Heads of Years/Assistant Headteacher (pastoral) in providing support to students, parents and teachers in order to raise standards and to provide short-term support in addressing the needs of a caseload of students to overcome a range of barriers to learning. This support is likely to include working individually with students, working with other parties/agencies including parents. The successful candidate will:
- Be able to deal with all matters confidentially
- Be able to work on their own initiative in an organised and flexible manner
- The ability to deal professionally and sensitively with all visitors to school
- Previous school experience would be an advantage.
We would require the successful candidate to undertake relevant training.
