Start date - as soon as possible

Salary: CAN scale 14-17 (£24,631 - £25,101 per annum, full time equivalent. Term time only, 33 hours actual salary - £18,921 - £19,282 per annum)

Days per year: 190 days per year (188 term time days plus 2 staff preparation days)

Working hours: 33 hours per week between 8.00am and 4.00pm

Thank you for your interest in this role. This is an exciting opportunity to join Oaks Park High Post 16 as a learning mentor and work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff in order to support students’ learning.

The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2024.

The post:

This is a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people and supporting them in their school life, helping them to access a varied and exciting curriculum.

For this role, you will work within the Post 16 team and work with individual students (either within the subject class, in small groups or individually) to address gaps in their knowledge and help develop their writing skills.

You will be expected to work effectively with both teaching and support staff at all levels as well as with parents/carers, students and external agencies.

Training in school systems and practices will be provided.
