Learning Mentor: Sixth Form

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Learning Mentor, to support our large and successful Sixth Form at Goffs Academy. The successful applicant will provide pastoral support to Sixth Form students, working on a one to one and larger group basis, ensuring that students are on track with their academic work, attending regularly, participating fully in Sixth Form life, and helping to overcome any barriers to learning. The post-holder will also provide personalised guidance and support to help students progress onto their preferred next step, whether that be in employment, an apprenticeship, or higher education.

The post is 23 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks, at the H4 pay point (actual salary £11,209 - £11,865). Please note that we are able to be flexible regarding the total number of working hours, and the working days, for the right candidate.

 The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate: 

• Experience of coaching, mentoring and providing pastoral support to young people

• The ability to be tenacious, robust and creative about overcoming any barriers to learning

• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
