We provide a nurturing environment where students are supported to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

We are looking to appoint a passionate and committed Learning Mentor to join our experienced pastoral team. This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting students on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or whole-class settings. You will work flexibly across school sites and the local community to support students who may struggle to engage in traditional learning environments.

The role also includes providing short-term cover for teaching staff by delivering pre-planned lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support access to learning for students with SEND, including EHCPs

  • Deliver targeted interventions to address barriers to learning and to support students’ wellbeing.

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress

  • Contribute to individual support planning, including Regulation Support Plans and Provision Map tracking

  • Provide classroom supervision and deliver pre-set lessons during staff absence

  • Support students’ emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and social development

  • Maintain accurate records, including CPOMS and progress tracking

  • Support enrichment activities, visits, and whole-school events

You will be:

  • Experienced working with children or young people with SEND

  • Calm, patient and flexible

  • A strong communicator and have excellent relationship-building skills

  • Understanding of (or have a willingness to learn)  relational approaches to supporting young people to access their learning

  • Able to adapt quickly and work across different environments

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
